Black Dog Hill Vineyard Sparkling Classic Cuvee wines are a classic blend of all three Champagne grape varieties from their own Vineyard nestled beneath Black Dog hill in the South Downs National Park.

The Land

At the foot of the South Downs within the boundaries of the newly created South Downs National Park, the vineyard is nestled against the 830ft high Ditchling Beacon where the vines are sheltered from the extremes of the British weather and grow happily in true chalky soil, littered with prehistoric sea fossils.

The Family

The style, elegance and delight of fine wine hides a terrible truth: it takes hours of hard graft to bring it to life! Fortunately energy is in abundant supply, courtesy of our own small, winemaking army.

The Legend

For more than 1000 years, the locals of Westmeston and Ditchling have spoken of a ghostly black dog that roams the area bearing the souls of the departed to their resting place in the next world.
