Classic Cuvée 2016

The very limited edition Classic Cuvee 2016 is a delightful wine. Superb structure and length on the palette stand it out as a special vintage.

It was a wonderful year for Chardonnay and both Pinot styles of fruit( Noir and Meunier), giving this balance and precision. Maturity and depth is expected for a wine that has been aged for four years on Lees but this really is the best example of properly aged sparkling wine.

This vineyard continues to produce the highest quality and this has surpassed even that.

Blanc de Blancs 2015

There is laser-like precision here with bright citrus, fresh green apple, exotic jasmine and savoury, yeasty aromas all wrapped around a core of acidic structure. Extraordinarily long with very fine bones, this will unfurl into something quite grand if you have the willpower to keep your hands off it. The perfect accompaniment to smoked salmon blinis, caviar, oysters or good old fish and chips.

Blanc de Blancs 2014

A beautiful, pale, shimmering gold, the 2014 Blanc de Blancs opens with aromas of freshly crushed ripe green apples, lemon zest, quince jelly and a gorgeous fresh ginger note. It has a toasty savouriness with the well-judged intensity of pastry and biscuit never overwhelming the elegant fruit. On the palate it has wonderful concentration and acidic structure. Bone dry and beautifully balanced. Superb length.

Rosé 2015

A gorgeous copper colour in appearance with the most stunning, complex nose of red apples, cherries, raspberries, sweet strawberry and rose petals all mingling seamlessly with a subtle, buscuity nuttiness. There is real structure on the palate making it perfect as an accompaniment to all sorts of dishes. Fleshy and mouth-watering with a long, elegant finish.

Classic Cuvée 2014

Unmistakably Black Dog Hill and undoubtedly the best vintage of Classic Cuvée since the 2011. This has all those fragrant apple blossom, citrus, brioche and biscuit aromas we love but with even greater structure and poise on the palate. The Chardonnay component gives the wine its racy style and drive while the Pinot Noir offers body, ripeness and red berry fragrance. Superbly balanced with impressive length, this is an elegant example of English sparkling wine from a producer at the top of their game.

Classic Cuvée 2013

Disgorged in April 2018 this pale, shimmering gold 2013 Classic Cuvée has all the freshness and precision we’ve come to associate with Black Dog Hill’s celebrated fizz over the past seven years. Extra time on the lees has lent it more texture and depth on the palate while giving the nose greater savoury complexity. Hallmark lemon zest, quince and apple blossom overlie those freshly baked pastry and biscuit aromas. The lingering finish keeps you coming back for more, the flavours evolving in the glass each time you do. This would pair very well with roast turkey as well as all manner of seafood.

Classic Cuvée 2011

The result of the brilliantly warm Indian summer of 2011, our first vintage is a classic blend of all three Champagne grape varieties. Disgorged in March 2015 after 33 months on lees, this perfectly aged, classically styled sparkling wine is rich, ripe with Pinot fruit very much to the fore. This is combined with a crisp, vivid acidity which balances a core of fine pear and citrus. The finish is characterised by persistent, yeast-complexed fruit reminiscent of hazelnut and brioche. Stunning.
